Entering the UAE market: 7 steps for a Ukrainian brand

Dubai is a magnet for business, but competition is tough. Here is where to start, how to adapt your brand and where to find your first clients.

Entering the UAE market: 7 steps for a Ukrainian brand

The UAE is one of the most attractive markets for Ukrainian businesses: entrepreneurs, investors and entire teams relocate here. But “just running ads in Dubai” is the most expensive way to get to know the market. We have taken brands into the Middle East and collected the steps that save both budget and time.

1. Start with an audit, not with ads

Before spending money, answer three questions: who your client in the UAE is, who they will compare you with, and why they should choose you. Dubai’s audience is made up of expats from dozens of countries, and their expectations differ from what you know at home.

  • Analyse 5–10 local competitors: prices, offers, tone of communication.
  • Check how people will search for you: query language, platforms, seasonality.
  • Review the regulations in your niche — they are strict in finance, real estate and healthcare.

2. Adapt your positioning to cultural codes

What feels bold and creative in Ukraine may look out of place in the UAE. Status, trust, service and recommendations matter here. Adapt key messages, visuals and even colours to the mindset of the B2B or B2C audience you work with.

3. Speak your clients’ languages

English is the baseline, but many niches also need Arabic and Russian. A multilingual website and campaigns in several languages expand your reach: you address people in their own language — and that noticeably increases trust.

4. Build trust before the first sale

Nobody knows you in a new market yet. So before advertising, package your expertise: case studies, testimonials, expert analytics, publications. In the One Place Consulting case, exactly this approach helped a consulting company become an expert name among international entrepreneurs.

5. Choose channels that fit the audience

For B2C in the UAE, Instagram and TikTok work well; for B2B — LinkedIn and Google. Campaigns should respect local advertising rules and platform specifics, and creatives should be tested for each segment separately.

6. Add PR, events and opinion leaders

In the UAE, many decisions are made through personal connections and recommendations. Presentations, networking events, collaborations with local influencers and media publications all accelerate trust.

7. Set up analytics for a distributed team

Leads from different time zones, several currencies, managers in different countries — without a clear funnel, requests get lost. Set up a CRM, fast lead handling and reporting in business metrics: leads, meetings, sales.

The golden rule: test campaigns and awareness first, scaling second. The UAE market quickly rewards those who arrive prepared.
